The new S-Works Recon brings asphalt-bred performance to Gravel and XC disciplines. Based on more than 100,000 foot scans from our RETÜL data, Specialized has recognized that both a standard and a wide base plate made of carbon best cover the spectrum of human foot shapes. An internal I-Beam adds rigidity and strength, eliminating the need for additional bracing. The result is a knowledge-based fit that's stiff, comfortable, and customizable to fit you. All with the aim of increasing performance.

The S-Works Recon builds on their Body Geometry technology according to the inside-out principle. Based on two decades of development and backed by science, they can ensure that there are no pain points on the body where it connects with the bike - only efficient power transfer. The varus wedge, longitudinal arch support and metatarsal pad ensure your feet move in the optimal position and in line with your knees and hips while pedaling.

  • The asymmetric heel counter supports the inside of the foot, while material on the outside has been removed to allow for a lower ankle area

  • Reinforced zones in the forefoot and midfoot maximize support, while revised BOA® guidance promotes a locked-in fit and eliminates the need for a toe strap
  • Additional insoles for leg length discrepancies in thicknesses of 3, 6 and 9mm and washers for cleats are available from the Specialized Rider Care Team
  • So you can benefit from a perfect fit, the new base plate is 4mm wider than the standard width (8mm wider overall than S-Works Recon mountain bike shoes)
